UMH 102: Now Thank We All Our God
1. Now thank we all our God,
with heart and hands and voices,
who wondrous things has done,
in whom this world rejoices;
who from our mothers' arms
has blessed us on our way
with countless gifts of love,
and still is ours today.
2. O may this bounteous God
through all our life be near us,
with ever joyful hearts
and blessed peace to cheer us;
and keep us still in grace,
and guide us when perplexed;
and free us from all ills,
in this world and the next.
3. All praise and thanks to God
the Father now be given;
the Son, and him who reigns
with them in highest heaven;
the one eternal God,
whom earth and heaven adore;
for thus it was, is now,
and shall be evermore.The United Methodist Hymnal Number 098. Text: Martin Rinkart; Trans. by Catherine Winkworth. Music: Johann Cruger; Harm. by Felix Mendelssohn. Tune: NUN DANKET, Meter: 67.67.66.66

Hymns and songs of praises are tools for spiritual worship and also a form of prayer. It is also a scriptural recommendation. Yes, God recommended singing songs or hymns in the Bible.In both Ephesians 5:19 19 speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord, and Colossians 3:16, "Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts." Paul preached about gathering believers and making songs of praise and singing of hymns.
These hymns are the collections of the united Methodist Church Hymnal book. They may be similar with the hymns in SS&S book or the Anglican Ancient and Modern Hymnal. But what make them different is the numbering and titles. Hymns are mostly searched according to title and the denominations.
